La tecnica SqueeSAR permette di rilevare lo spostamento nel tempo di oggetti al suolo (tipicamente fabbricati o roccia esposta) che siano buoni riflettori radar. Le elaborazioni sono state effettuate dalla Telerilevamento Europa TRE di Milano (spin-off del Politecnico di Milano) su immagini radar riprese dalla piattaforma satellitare Radarsat tra il 2003 ed il 2009; tutte le informazioni fornite si riferiscono quindi a tale intervallo temporale. Una corretta utilizzazione dei dati resi disponibili dal servizio prevede la conoscenza dei principi del metodo, dei suoi limiti e delle modalità utilizzate per le elaborazioni. Un uso acritico dei dati e la non conoscenza dei limiti del metodo possono portare a interpretazioni scorrette, in particolare per quanto attiene le valutazioni relative ai fenomeni franosi.
