Description: Il dataset è suddiviso in 15 grandi Unità litotecniche desunte da una sistematica operazione di classificazione ed aggregazione, per gruppi omogenei, delle diverse unità, formazioni e complessi geologici presenti nella Regione Piemonte, tenendo conto della loro propensione al dissesto. Il dataset fa parte della Banca Dati dei Processi Geologici realizzata dalla Regione Piemonte nella seconda metà degli anni '80 per rispondere alla crescente richiesta di informazioni logiche e strutturate sul territorio, necessarie per le funzioni di programmazione, coordinamento ed indirizzo delle scelte e degli interventi in ambito territoriale-geologico. Il dato tematico originario è stato realizzato su taglio I.G.M. 1:100.000 dal Settore per la Prevenzione del Rischio Geologico, Meteorologico e Sismico di Regione Piemonte strutturando ed integrando i dati gia` raccolti dal CNR-IRPI di Torino.* *http://www.irpi.to.cnr.it/
